Two new, competitively-priced, all-purpose ranges of LED lamps, suitable for car and truck trailers, campers, caravans and horse floats, have been introduced to New Zealand by lighting expert NARVA.
The new Model 34 has the features and performance of more elaborate LED lamps, but utilises just eight high-powered light emitting diodes to keep costs down. This model is made in the same square shape and dimensions as the most popular trailer lamp in New Zealand, so can easily be retro-fitted.
The Model 36 lamp uses the same 8-LED technology, but with rectangular styling and dimensions, which is preferred for boat trailer applications, and it includes a fully submersible version supplied with 9m of cable for the marine environment.
NARVA says the use of eight LEDs not only keeps the costs of each unit down it also reduces current draw, thus taking little energy from the battery. Each LED is rated for 100,000 hours of operation, making it far more cost-effective than traditional incandescent lights. Even with a reduced number of LEDs, the light spread and performance from these new lamps is very effective, says NARVA.
Crucially, these lamps are ADR and E approved with in-built retro reflectors and are among the very first with an in-built LED licence plate lamp that fully meets the requirements of ADR. Not only do the licence plate versions meet ADR for 48/00 (performance requirements), but they also pass ADR 13/00 (installation requirements), allowing just one lamp to be positioned above the licence plate. And, of course, all version meet the other ADR regulations, including 6/00 (rear indicator), 47/00 (reflector) and 49/00 (stop lamp).
Additionally, all lamps are fully sealed to IP66 and IP68 specifications, which prevents moisture and dust from entering, which helps to ensure long life and performance.
Both models are available with the standard 12-volt or 9-30 multi volt option for commercial transport applications. Most versions are supplied with a half-metre cable, whilst the Model 36 submersible kit includes 9m of cable that allows the connection to be at the trailer plug not in the water. The submersible lamps are 100% tested after the sealing process and cables are sealed at the entry point of the lamp - however it is still recommended to avoid joining the cables near the lamp or in a position where they are in contact with water.
Like all new generation LED trailer lights from NARVA, the new Model 34 and Model 36 ranges are made from virtually unbreakable polycarbonate lenses and are covered by an industry-leading 5-year warranty. |
