Narva lighting products are being tested in some of the most demanding applications in the world.
Take, for example, the Narva Compac High intensity Discharge (H.I.D.) lights that shone the way to victory for the winner of the 500cc Quad Bike category of the 2007 Dakar Rally.
Carlos Avendano from Spain had the Narva Compac H.I.D. lights fitted to his trophy-winning Quad Bike. The size of the Quad bike did not allow many lamps to be fitted however the size and convenient mounting system of the Compac lights allowed these to be placed behind the front guard providing extra protection. The low current draw of H.I.D. Narva lamps placed no strain on the electrical system yet the lamps produced three times the light output of halogen globes used by some competitors.
Commenting on the gruelling event Carlos said, “On stage 19 I broke a wheel and spent a lot of time repairing it, resulting in me riding 45 minutes in the absolute darkness of the desert.
“The sensational Compac lights however provided great safety and comfort in this ride allowing me to maintain high speeds.
“The Atar to Tichit stage was longest of all and although I got to the finish only 5 minutes into darkness, the track was difficult to pick up so the lights were great value for me.”
Of the 270 bikes that started the rally only 109 got to Dakar Pink Lake to complete this gruelling event. |
